First, you need to understand what it takes for you to build muscle fast. You can’t expect to lift heavy weights one day and be down with it. Heck, you can’t even expect to lift heavy weights for weeks and be done with it. There happens to be much for to building muscle fast than most people believe.

To build muscle you must eat more. However, this does not mean that you should load up on your favorite burger, fries and milkshakes. And, the traditional three meals a day just won’t do. Eat four to six (or up to eight depending on your metabolism) meals per day. To avoid confusion and overwhelming analysis, these meals should consist of protein, carbohydrates, fats and micronutrients.

Building Muscle Fast Component 2: Intense Resistance Training

To build muscle fast, you have to stimulate your muscle fibers to growth. The best way known so far is weight training. If you’ve not started already, get into a weight training program and learn the proper ways of pumping iron. You could hire a personal trainer who will design a program for you, or learn from books and videos.

You will often hear the phrase “no pain no gain” when among bodybuilders. This phrase is not quite true. Yes, you should train with utmost intensity, meaning to failure or each set. the “pain” of the muscle burning from getting worked is desirable. Other forms of pain such as joint pain from excessive weight may not.

Rest? Oh, yes. Your muscles actually grow when you are resting, not when you are training. And, there is such a thing as overtraining. If you don’t allow your muscles time to rest and recuperate, they will not grow. Also, overtraining causes energy levels to drop, and this in turn compromises training intensity. Take time off from the weights. Your body will thank you for it and reward you with more growth.
